00191 - Necessity, the mother of invention

Updated: Mar 10, 2023

Attributed originally to Plato, this phrase states how creative we can be when needed. Let’s face it, most of the time we just live our daily routine. When faced with really difficult circumstance our creativity through necessity is free to find solutions for the way forward. We never see this otherwise.

Ephesians 2:10 says ‘For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do’. (NIV)

You may also feel in a rut, and can’t get beyond doing the same over and over, even if there was a better way. Have you thought about asking God to give you ideas to improve your life generally, the creativity to change a menial task into something enjoyable or the wisdom to apply past experience to a task to make it more efficient, it’s amazing what you can actually pray for!

Quote

Letting the creativity of God solve a problem is a wonder opportunity.

Prayer

Lord, would you flood my mind with creative ideas to solve the problem areas of my life, Amen.

Action Point

Write a list of the areas of life where you would like to see change and then start to pray them through and see what happens.
