00106 - Loneliness doesn’t control you

Updated: Mar 10, 2023

Life can often impose on us seasons of loneliness. Whether because of bereavement, separation, moving house or changing job, when you experience no familiar contact for weeks on end, it’s easy to become downcast.

Faith helps us in any loneliness journey. Isaiah 49:16 says ‘..I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me’. (NIV)

God is always near you, He is only a prayer away. Loneliness is an enemy of the soul, so pray, then take some steps to get a new hobby, connect with friends you haven’t spoken to for a while, reach out to a neighbour, your Church and of course family. Fill your week with human contact, chats, hugs, coffees, discussion and laughter. Loneliness will then retreat to the shadows and your life will advance into the daylight once again. You are loved - never forget that in Jesus name.

Quote Your life is valued and rich beyond any season of loneliness.

Prayer Lord, thank you I am loved, help me Lord to reconnect with friends and family I haven’t spoken to for a while. Amen

Action Point The first step away from loneliness, is to decide what you can change each day to put you more connected to the people that love you. Who will you ring today ?
