The Burglers Of The Mind

Carl Brettle

Updated: Feb 21

We often overlook the burglars of our mind—the constant stream of social media, critical voices around us and, of course, the consistently negative news media. Just like we protect our homes from burglars, we must guard our minds against harmful thoughts and influences.

Philippians 4:8 (NKJV) advises us, "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Always focus on the positive.

We can cultivate a healthier mindset by being selective about what we watch, read, and listen to. Let's surround ourselves with positivity and encouragement, filtering out the negative influences that try to sneak in. Guarding our minds protects our peace and strengthens our faith, helping us live more joyful and fulfilled lives.
