00407 - We Repair What Your Husband Fixed

It was an advertising slogan for a DIY business; its only customers were the wives of failed ‘DIY experts’. Husbands instinctively feel they were born with God-given abilities to fix things. On the other hand, wives undertake a lesson in grace each time they are presented with the results of their husband's efforts. Of course, a jovial view but often true.

Proverbs 21:2 says, ‘Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart.’ (ESV).

Life is often full of good intentions, and those intentions sometimes are driven by pride, ego, and elitism. Intentions can satisfy our need for praise or a pat on the back, but we can assume too much. Whenever we take something on, let’s make sure that it is a considered endeavour which also considers the opinions of those around us. Then we find harmony and not condemnation.

Quote Owning a saw doesn’t make you a carpenter; honour God in all you do.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the relationship I have. Amen.
