El Roi

Carl Brettle

Updated: Feb 21

The title of God,”El Roi," translates to "The God Who Sees,". It originates from the story of Hagar in the wilderness in Genesis 16:13, where, after an encounter with the angel of the Lord, she proclaims God as, "You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees; for she said, 'Have I also here seen Him who sees me?'" (NKJV).

Understanding God as ‘El Roi’ transforms our faith, reminding us that we are never invisible or forgotten. His vigilant oversight assures us that no aspect of our lives is too trivial or overlooked. This awareness can bring immense comfort and confidence to believers, knowing their lives are perpetually in His sight.

Live transparently before God, inviting His guidance and correction with the assurance that His gaze is not one of judgment but of loving care. Trust in His sovereign plans, secure in knowing He sees us entirely and leads us according to His wisdom and love.
