At 99, John Scharffenberg lives a great and healthy life. John is a professor of nutrition; he’s also a committed Christian. He talks about seven key areas of health. 1) don’t smoke, 2) drink less, 3) exercise - be active, 4) have less sugar and meat in your diet, 5) no snacking, 6) watch your blood pressure, and 7) watch your cholesterol. He then says to sort out the first five, and the last two take care of themselves.
Proverbs 3:1-2 says, 'My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.’ (ESV)
The point today is to make wise decisions throughout your life. Someone once said, ‘a moment on the lips is a lifetime on the hips.’ Think about that as you pray about how you treat your earthly body.
Quote The better you treat your body, the longer you can be active on Earth for His kingdom.
Prayer
Lord, help me be wise about how I treat my health. Amen.
