The Bible warns us about the signs of a stony heart—a heart hardened and resistant to the work of God's Spirit. These signs include being angry, dismissive, stubborn, unforgiving, bitter, unrepentant, unteachable, resentful, selfish, inflexible, hateful, proud, arrogant, and spiteful. In Ezekiel 36:26, the Lord promises, ‘I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.’ (NIV)
When our heart becomes hardened, it hinders our relationship with God. Let us humbly examine our hearts and seek God's transformative work within us. Through Christ, He can replace our stony hearts with hearts filled with His love, grace, and compassion.
Let’s pray for God to shape us into vessels of His love and grace, shining His light in a world that desperately needs His healing touch. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
