Clouds

Carl Brettle

Updated: Feb 17

When I was MUCH younger, I used to have fun lying down in a field with a few friends, looking up at the clouds and then shouting out to each other, there’s a horse, a frog; there’s a tree. The ever-changing shapes above us provided endless entertainment - there was not a smartphone in sight!

Now that I’m grown up, I’ve seen clouds on every continent, looking up at them from the land and, most spectacularly from above, seeing the light, the layers, when the plane pushes through the final few meters to see the glorious blue sky above. There is something so majestic about clouds. When life gets tough, then watch the clouds.

Let’s not forget the biggest role clouds will ever play, which is stated in Mark 13:26, which says, ‘Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.’ (NKJV)

Quote Clouds display the constant creativity of God.

Prayer

Thank You, Lord, for Your creation, for the respite from life looking at clouds provides. Amen.

Action Point

Spend (if the weather allows) an afternoon leaving stress behind with God while looking at clouds.
