We all meet Christians whose son or daughter is away from the Lord. Even worse, some might have fallen out of contact with their parents. It’s often heartbreaking to witness that in the family of others, even more, difficult if it is your child.
When we pray, there is always an intervention from God. Perhaps not how we would like it, but there will always be an outcome.
Luke 15:18-20 says, ‘I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ So he got up and went to his father…..’ (NIV). We simply don’t know what our children are doing when they are away from us; let’s keep praying that they are reconciled to their parents and God.
Quote A distant child is a prodigal who needs to return.
Prayer
Lord, I pray that the prodigals return in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Action Point
Ask around church which parents have distant children and form a prayer group to pray for them to return.
