00074 - Success or failure in under a second

Updated: Mar 10, 2023

One of the most competitive areas of sport is the 100m final of the Olympics. Athletes take four full years of training for an event where the 1st place winner and the 4th place position are decided in way less than one second.

Imagine training for all that time with such a slim margin of error. The diet, fitness level and mental focus of the event is probably amongst the highest level in human attainment.

Philippians 3:14 says ‘I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus’ (NIV). It’s refreshing to know that sharing the gospel is not a sport, we have time to do it, and anyone can participate. There is no failure for a Christian who spends time sharing the wonderful news of Jesus to others, often resulting in salvation for them and the prize for us.

Quote Sharing the Gospel is a privilege where the recipient also gets the prize.

Prayer Father, help me to be bold enough to talk to people about your son Jesus, Amen.
