Let’s face it being a Pastor is one of the most demanding roles out there. Trying to keep everyone happy, trying to prepare one or more messages each week. Facilitating weddings, funerals, baptisms. Doing hospital visits and outreach, often on a low salary with lots of criticism and not much thanks.
We should honour our leaders, we should be supportive and encouraging, we should lift them up and not pull them down. When was the last time we did something nice for the leaders around us, just because we could?
Let’s declare this prayer over them from Numbers 6:24-26. ‘The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace’. Write a card, send an encouraging text, make a meal, let’s do all we can to support our spiritual leaders.
Quote Pastors have stressful roles, let’s pray for them daily.
Prayer Lord, thank you for our Church leaders, would you bless them and keep them in the name of your son Jesus, Amen.
Action point
We ask so much from our Pastors, why don’t you take them to lunch just to bless them not you.
