00062 - Be a light on your street

Updated: Mar 10, 2023

Living out faith on your street can be really rewarding. Often people seek out help and advice from Christians when they have a problem or need. The offer of Prayer is also rarely rejected by anyone. When people see you are authentic and not cringeworthy your faith will make you magnetic to their need.

Matthew 5:15-16 says ‘Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven’.

Building friendship then trust, you earn the right to speak into their lives. Being there for folk during the good times and the tough times, brings Christ within you, directly into hearts of those around you. Go on, let your light shine.

Quote The best outreach is when people trust you enough – they ask the questions.

Prayer Lord, fill me with the wisdom I need to touch the neighbours on my street, to be your witness there in Jesus mighty name, Amen.

Action point

People have a Jesus shaped hole in their heart, don’t be afraid when they see Jesus in you and want to know more, talk to them and see what happens.
