We live in a world these days, where the very last thing anyone want is to be told is what to do or how to live life, yet the Bible is full of advice like that. The big book is ‘the’ moral and spiritual compass we all need.
James 1:14-15 says ‘….but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed, Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin…..’.
Temptation comes in many forms, you could say many degrees, yet the principle is usually the same. Give in once, and you are more likely to give in again, the second time though, you might go a little deeper than before. If you struggle with something you can’t stop, share that with a friend and use that weakness to pray together and hold one another accountable through that prayer. It works, honestly.
Quote When you share a weakness and pray about it regularly, you will overcome it.
Prayer Father, whether I am tempted in a big or small way, help me gain the strength I need to overcome, Amen.
Action Point If you feel tempered, talk to someone you trust about it, you’ll feel accountable and they will likely pray with you.
