Have you ever considered what pollutes your brain? What your eyes see, how often they see it. Whether that be a soap opera or violence on TV? There is a saying, ‘garbage in – garbage out’. Asking what occupies our time is a question well made.
Matthew 6:22 says ‘The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light...’.
What would happen if we simply switched off from the violence, swearing, fighting and death in the media we watch? What if we replaced that content with wholesome programmes and films, promoting hope, faith and peace? Media that raises our praise of God. Make sure the lamp of our eyes allows God’s light to shine in. When we start doing that, the light of Christ that overflows from us, can’t help but touch the lives of our family and friends.

Action Point Why not fast bad news from newspapers and the violence we see on TV for a week and see how better you feel.
