00680 - The Climb

Life can often be a strenuous climb, a journey filled with varying terrains and unexpected encounters. We meet fellow travellers, some walking with us for a season and others parting as paths diverge. Hebrews 12:1 (NKJV) inspires us, "Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us."

This analogy of life as a climb reminds us not to hold onto expectations of companionship with everyone we meet. Cherish the shared moments and lessons learned from each individual and embrace the solitude when paths separate. These moments build personal growth and reflection.

Only some people are meant to reach the summit with us. Let’s walk with gratitude for those who accompany us, even momentarily, and with faith that suitable companions will be with us at the right segments of our climb. You may only have a handful of friends walk with you all the way through life.

Quote

You may only have a handful of friends who stick with you; cherish them.

Prayer

Lord, help me to value the people I travel with on my life journey. Amen.

Action Point

When did you last meet with a lifelong friend to appreciate them?
