A particularly moving passage illustrates God's profound interest in every soul. It's found in the parable of the lost sheep, where Jesus says, "And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off" (Matthew 18:13, NIV).
The shepherd's action in this parable reflects God's heart towards those who have not yet decided on Jesus. It's a powerful reminder that every individual is precious in His eyes. The fact that the shepherd would count and notice one missing from the ninety-nine speaks volumes. It tells us that God is acutely aware of each person's spiritual journey and actively pursues a relationship with them.
The message is clear: no one is beyond the reach of God's love, and every decision for Jesus is celebrated in heaven. Let’s not forget to pray regularly for the ‘one’ today.
