00475 - Life Lesson - Be Humble

Being humble allows us to recognise that our talents, successes, and even our ability to be good come from God. Paul warns against pride and self-reliance in Philippians 2:3 (NIV): "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves." This scripture encourages us to shift our focus from self-centred ambitions to God-centered purposes.

In stark contrast, a life led by selfish desires and egocentric confidence tends to be volatile, subject to the fluctuations of external circumstances. When satisfying your ego starts to dictate your actions, trouble will soon come and pay a visit. Don’t be tempted away from God focussed, simple, humility.

By anchoring our faith in God and approaching life humbly, we honour the Lord and cultivate a more stable, fulfilling existence. This sense of humility and God-centered confidence enriches our faith journey, fostering spiritual growth and meaningful connections with others.
