00461 - Why Are We So Focussed On Money?

There's been this noticeable shift in societal values. The Bible warned us about this very issue. 1 Timothy 6:10 (NASB) states, "For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."

When focussing on money, other crucial aspects of life like patriotism, faith, family, and community start fading into the background. It's a slippery slope that can have us neglecting God and each other.

Let's refocus by re-centering God in our lives. His teachings guide us toward compassion and a higher purpose, transcending material wealth. From there, the rest can follow naturally: the willingness to help one another thinking about the collective good rather than just individual gain. The solution to the society-wide drift towards materialism is to return to timeless spiritual truths with a better intentional focus.

Quote Don’t just follow the crowd; lead the crowd back to Godly principles.

Prayer

Help me, Lord, to focus on the things of heaven more than the material things of earth. Amen.

Action Point

Think about what you focus on and try to balance the things you don’t spend much time on.
