00457 - Grief

The depth of human emotions, especially during times of loss and sadness, can often feel consuming. "I sat with anger long enough, I declared my name as grief," beautifully captures that overwhelming sensation. But even in such profound pain, the Bible offers solace and guidance.

Psalm 34:18 (NIV) reads, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." This verse reminds us that in the midst of our grief, we are not alone. By turning to prayer, we can draw comfort and strength directly from the source of all love and healing. Praying allows us to voice our pain, release our burdens, and start the journey of healing.

Yet, it's crucial to remember, grief is not our identity; it's a journey we have been on. While it shapes us, with prayer and faith, we can emerge stronger, anchored in hope and divine love.

Quote Grief is not your identity. It’s a journey you have been on.

Prayer

Lord, help me through this journey of Grief; help me keep my eyes on You. Amen.

Action Point

Try to encourage someone who may be going through a grieving process; just acknowledging their pain could help them.
