00300 - A Question of Celebration

The moments of celebration we have in life become anchor points for the whole of life’s journey. It could be a 30th, 40th or 50th birthday; 30 years of marriage or the arrival of a new baby. We can catch up with people we haven’t seen for a while and have a laugh.

Numbers 6:24-26 says ‘The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.’ (ESV)

The news we hear on a daily basis could suggest we shouldn’t celebrate anything. All the more reason then why you should! You have one life to live. If you haven’t celebrated for a while, why not think about doing something special next time. Dress up, go to a nice place, take some friends and relax. Even Jesus celebrated!

Quote

Celebration, the art of appreciating both who you are and the people around you.

Prayer

Father, thank you for blessing me with the ability to celebrate. Amen.

Action Point

Go on then, make some plans and bring some people together to celebrate the next milestone of life.
