When you live in a home, you often need to repair it, perhaps upgrade it, or even build an extension onto it. That often means you also find problems with electrical cabling or damp that you didn’t expect or want. Building something requires lots of effort, expertise from workers and plenty of patience!
Remember the Kevin Costner film ‘Field of Dreams’ and the quote, ‘If you build it, they will come’, it was such a brilliant example of building, perseverance, and persistence.
In God’s Kingdom, building means stepping out of the boat, doing something in faith, taking a risk, while counting the cost. Yet as Acts 7:48 says ‘God does not dwell in houses made by human hands’. He dwells and builds in our heart. Why not let him renovate your heart, make all things new, so people see Jesus in you more clearly when the building work is done.
Quote Jesus is the Master Builder, shaping our lives for his Kingdom.
Prayer Father, please do whatever is needed in my heart for me to be more of a reflection of you in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Action Point If there is a deep hurt or pain in your heart, perhaps it’s time to leave the Master Builder fix it.
