The most trusted political leaders are the ones beyond reproach, they tend not to be self-obsessed and have the respect of the people. Romans 13:1 says ‘…for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God’.
God gives every new leader the opportunity to carry that authority with decency and integrity. Yet God never removes free will from the leaders He established, everyone can act sinfully, it’s their choice. When the desire to sin is the mixed with the desire to lead, confusion will ensue, and a vacuum of Godly leadership will exist.
In the demise of a leader, it’s often one small indiscretion upon another that finally brings them down. Oh, that we would pray for our leaders that God’s authority and integrity would be at the forefront of their lives.
Let us pray for the next Prime Minister.
Quote There has never been a better time to pray for those in authority.
Prayer Father, we pray for the next Prime Minister, to have a pure heart a mind of integrity and a tenacity for what is right, Amen.
Action Point Don’t shy away from letting the leaders around you, know you are praying for them, send them a card and let them know.
