The salvation of our immediate and wider family is an ache in the heart. The thought of any unsaved family member is tough to bear and how to approach the subject of salvation with them can often be a real quandary, if they reject the suggestion, are they also rejecting you as a family member?
Acts 16:31 says ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-you and your household’ (NIV).
If we took this scripture to heart, God is already on our side, there is a promise here that our family will come through the same way as we came through. Of course, that’s not a guarantee. For our part if we don’t feel comfortable evangelising then we can pray earnestly for them. There is nothing to lose in prayer, it might give us insight to what is going on in their lives that we didn’t know before.
Quote
The best way for your family to come to Christ is pray them through.
Prayer
Father, I pray for my loved ones to come to a knowledge of your son Jesus, to accept Him as Saviour, Amen.
Action Point Most of the people around us are more willing for a faith conversation than we might be. If anyone opens up a conversation about faith, it’s an invite, go for it.
