A habit is a regular practice or tendency. It’s easy to form bad habits as they usually appeal to our sinful nature. It’s harder to form a habit which breaks us free from the bad ones we might have formed. It’s like a war between good and bad, the habit that wins is the one we give the most time to.
Psalm 18:2 says, ‘The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold’. (NIV)
Rely on God to guide you through life, good habits form as part of that journey, and you automatically move away from sinful nature. The more we live life righteous and holy, the more we invite God in. Let’s make sure we never let go of the promise of this scripture in our lives.
