Life seems to be rushed, compressed and society seems stressed. Having the ability to just breathe and be at rest seems more and more distant in our modern world. Ironically, what we are told is the technology and opportunity we have should make life easier and simpler than ever before.
Psalm 46:10 says ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!’. (NKJV)
Slow suggests we come away from busyness, take time out from our worries and the things that we feel pressure from. Slow might be a walk, reading a book, sleeping in or having a little holiday from the hustle and bustle of life. If God suggests we ‘be still’ use that advice and do that as soon as your are able. He knows your need and will be with you there - Praise God.
Quote
God is with you, including when you want to go slow. It’s OK.
Prayer
Lord, if I need to slow things down, thank you, that you are there with me, Amen.
