If ever you wanted to super-charge your intercession, fasting will certainly do that. You are ultimately showing God you are determined beyond measure. Isaiah 58:6 says ‘…to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?’ (NIV).
Fasting is giving something up and spending the time in prayer instead. Historically giving up a meal over a period of time, there are many kinds of fasts in the bible, only eating nuts or fruit, only drinking liquids and then for long? You must be sensible when you fast, so if you have a medical condition, consult with someone first, it might not be medically right for you.
Fasting is not fashionable, should not be advertised, should be a private affair, that takes you away from the chaos of life and partners with God to see the question of a prayer become a reality, the power of God moving in a dynamic way.
Quote
Fasting calls the power of God to demand the situation to change.
Prayer
Lord show the right time to fast and take my intercession as a sacrifice while I earnestly pray for the circumstance to change, Amen.
Action Point If you are new to fasting, start with something simple, it might be TV, a food group, so you can build up from there.
