Hope Stabilises The Soul

Carl Brettle

Updated: Feb 4

If you are feeling down and a little bit depressed, perhaps it’s time to spend half an hour to encourage yourself. You might decide to reflect on those times God did come through for you, a significant past time with God, those seasons when He seemed so close. Why not treat yourself to the memories of God having already working in your life. If He, did it then, He, can do it again.

Psalm 39:7 says ‘But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you’. (NIV)

In the middle of any difficulty the best thing you can do is stabilise how your feel, (feelings being the essence of the soul). The hope that God created in your life when you came to know him, is now the anchor of your emotions, the anchor through the current storm and that anchor of hope will enable your future.

Quote Hope is the fuel of our faith, it’s God, expressed in you.

Prayer

Thank you for the hope you have given me Lord, making the decision to believe in you, gave me a hope and future, Amen.

Action Point It might be scripture, a book or something you do that brings peace to you and allows for a clear head to face the next day, don’t be shy, do it, it will help.
