When Mandy Harvey came to sing in America’s Got Talent 2017, it seemed like just another audition. It wasn’t too long before the judges found out she was deaf. She had written a song called ‘Try’ and explained to everyone that she lost her hearing because of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome at the age of 18. She kept rhythm through the changes in vibration she felt through the floor as the music played.
It’s remarkable how she decided to overcome her adversity. She had a ‘golden buzzer’ and so far over 125 million people have watched her audition just on YouTube.
Mandy is a Christian and persevered because of scriptures like 1 Corinthians 15:57 - ‘But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ’. (NIV) What ever we face, face it with faith that with your relationship with God, you can at any time try.
