Many people get completely disabled when they become Christians because they doubt God’s forgiveness of their past. The bad past can become like a ball and chain, constantly reminding, like a whispering devil, ‘you won’t make it, you are not worthy’.
Yet Psalm 103:12 says ‘as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us’. (NIV)
Jesus never died on the cross to do half a job, to give you hope and still allow the devil to cause doubt or worry that you cannot break free. You salvation was a sledgehammer to the accusation of the past, so live free, live in your future and not your past, the past was dark and dismal, the future is full of light and opportunity for you and Christ within you. You can walk knowing the change in yourself – just praise God for it all.
Quote
Let your past become a distant friend, make new friends with your future.
Prayer
Thank you, Jesus for what you did on the cross for me, you made a hope and a future for me. Amen.
Action Point If you feel anxious as a Christian or not worthy to be one, it’s time to settle it, pray through it and grow from it into a fruitful future. God Loves You.
