When you have problems sleeping, it can knock your whole life off balance. You can be grumpy, forgetful, not focussed, and just plain tired all the time. The causes often include, worry, stress, anxiety, and other things like too much caffeine.
There are things you can do about it. Going for a walk, not drinking caffeine before bed, gently winding down for the night, not having a device near you.
You’ll notice there wasn’t much said about God in all of that. Matthew 28:11 says, ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest’ (NIV). If you are having problems sleeping, why not have a little prayer time before bed and leave your worries with Him, at that point of the day, you probably can’t solve them anyway. Trust in God for the sleep you need, while doing the practical things you can.
Quote Letting Jesus carry your problems, will help you find rest, you are not alone.
Prayer Lord, help me to let you in on the worries I have, so I can find the peace and rest I need, Amen.
Action Point Try and wind down before sleep, many people worry about things they can’t fix overnight away, give them to God, lay them at His feet, sleep and work it out tomorrow.
