More and more people are finding themselves having to do other things to make ends meet, crafting selling stuff through Facebook or Ebay. However, the price we often pay in doing that is tiredness and distraction from our key focus. It might be better to pray and work on improving your main income stream rather than have lots of peripheral bits of income, which you must spend time, to keep everyone happy.
Proverbs 4:25 says ‘Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.’ (NIV). Asking God for his perspective on how you use your time and what you should focus on, will bring you peace and perseverance. You won’t lose sleep at night when you know you are in the centre of God’s will. Whatever you do, don’t compromise your calling for short term game, go pray and ask God what He wants you to do.
Quote
Make sure to seek God for your main activity, trusting Him to provide.
Prayer
Father, keep my focus on You, on what You would like me to do, provide for me Lord while I serve You.
Action Point Seek advice from a friend about how you could reduce your work and have more time to rest and focus on God. A friendly conversation will come up with ideas which you might not have thought of.
