Amidst the busyness and commercialism of the Christmas season, it’s essential not to lose sight of its true meaning—celebrating Jesus. Christmas is a time to reflect on God’s greatest gift, His Son, who came to bring hope, salvation, and love to the world. While presents and festivities are enjoyable, they should never overshadow the reason for our celebration.
Luke 2:11 reminds us, “This very day in David’s town your Saviour was born—Christ the Lord!” (GNT). The arrival of Jesus changed the course of history. This verse calls us to remember the heart of Christmas: the arrival of our Saviour. Thanksgiving for Jesus and the gift of eternal life should be central to our celebrations.
This Christmas, take intentional moments to thank God for Jesus. Let your gratitude for Him shape how you celebrate and turn the focus from materialism to the incredible love that Jesus Christ brought.
