Jehovah-Raah

Carl Brettle

Updated: Feb 23

Jehovah-Raah, meaning "The Lord is my Shepherd," is one of the most comforting names of God, reminding us of His constant care and guidance. Like a shepherd who looks after his sheep, God is attentive to our needs, leading us to places of rest and nurturing us with His unfailing love. This name reflects His deep, personal involvement in our lives, ensuring we are protected and provided for.

Psalm 23:1 captures this perfectly: “The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need” (TLB). In our daily lives, Jehovah-Raah assures us that we are never alone no matter how difficult the path may become. He walks beside us, guiding us with wisdom and carrying us when we feel weak.

Understanding Jehovah-Raah means trusting Him with our worries and uncertainties. As our Shepherd, He knows what’s best for us and leads us to a future full of hope and peace.

Quote
