00867 - Money Verses Ministry

Carl Brettle

Money plays a fundamental role in ministry, helping us fund the work God has called us to. Financial resources are needed to support church activities, help those in need, or spread the gospel. It's important to remember that money is a tool, not the goal. Our focus must always remain on serving God and people, not accumulating wealth.

The Bible warns us about the dangers of letting money control us. “You cannot serve two masters: God and money. For you will hate one and love the other, or else the other way around” (Matthew 6:24, TLB). When money becomes the master, it distracts us from our true purpose—serving God with a pure heart.

In ministry, money must be a servant, used wisely to build God’s kingdom. When it stays in its rightful place, we can freely give, knowing that God will provide all we need for His work.

Quote

Money always follows ministry; if you serve people, God will bless you.
