Fear can grip us, especially when facing specific phobias like the fear of heights, flying, or storms. These anxieties can feel overwhelming, but as Christians, we are reminded that fear is not from God. Scripture tells us, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7, NLT), great verse.
Overcoming phobias often requires a step-by-step approach. Whether it’s the fear of water or the dentist, we can begin by acknowledging that God is in control. We can slowly confront our fears through prayer and practical steps, knowing we are not alone. It’s about taking small steps forward in faith.
When we trust God and take courageous steps, we build resilience. The fear of speaking in public or being in crowds diminishes when we lean on God’s promises, believing He goes before us and calms our anxious hearts.
