The Practice Of Gratitude

Carl Brettle

Updated: Feb 23

The practice of gratitude will bring joy and contentment into our lives. By regularly giving thanks, we shift our focus from what we lack to recognising the blessings we already have. Philippians 4:6 (AMP) reminds us, “Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.” Encouraging us to approach every aspect of life with gratitude.

Gratitude helps us to cultivate a positive mindset, allowing us to appreciate the present moment and trust in God’s provision. It can transform how we view challenges, turning them into opportunities for growth and reliance on God.

By practising gratitude daily, we strengthen our relationships with God and others. It fosters a spirit of generosity, peace, and joy. This habit draws us closer to God's will and brings His peace into our hearts.
