Modesty is not just about our dress but also our behaviour, speech, and carrying ourselves. In 1 Peter 3:3-4 (NKJV), we are reminded, “Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel—rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.”
Modesty helps us focus on what truly matters - our character and relationship with God - rather than seeking attention or approval from others. It encourages us to be mindful of how our actions and words reflect our faith, ensuring that we honour God in all we do.
Modesty will always promote respect and dignity, fostering healthy and uplifting relationships. By cultivating modesty, we honour God and set an example for others, showing that true beauty and worth come from within.
Quote
Hold yourself well so the people around you know you are a disciple of Jesus.
Prayer
Help me, Lord, to remember modesty is not a rule; it’s done out of respect for You. Amen.
Action Point
Pray and consider if there is anything that you do that is outside the character of God.
