Temptation itself is not a sin, but giving in to it can lead us away from God’s will. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV) reassures us, “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
Staying grounded in prayer and Scripture is crucial. Knowing God’s Word helps us recognise when we’re tempted and strengthens us to stand firm. Jesus resisted temptation, setting an example for us.
Surrounding ourselves with supportive, like-minded people also helps us stay accountable. Sharing our struggles with trusted friends or mentors can provide encouragement and wisdom. By relying on God’s strength and the support of our community, we can face temptation with confidence and live in a way that honours Him.
