Koinonia

Carl Brettle

Updated: Feb 23

Koinonia is a Greek word that means fellowship, sharing, and community. It reflects the connection Christians are called to have with one another, rooted in faith and love for Christ. Acts 2:42 (NCV) says, "They spent their time learning the apostles' teaching, sharing, breaking bread, and praying together." This beautifully describes where believers unite, support one another, and grow in their faith.

Koinonia is more than just social interaction; it’s about building meaningful relationships with other Christians, sharing their burdens, and encouraging one another in the faith. Through this deep fellowship, we grow stronger as individuals and as a community, reflecting the love of Jesus to the world around us.

Living out koinonia helps us experience God’s love more fully as we share our lives and faith with others. It fosters a sense of belonging and reminds us that we are part of a larger family united in Christ.
