In a world filled with countless voices and opinions, it can be easy to be swayed by those who say things we like to hear. False prophets often speak words that appeal to our desires. As Christians, we are called to measure every prophetic message with the truth of God's Word, our ultimate guide and foundation.
In Matthew 7:15 (NLT), the Bible warns us, “Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves.” We need discernment, grounded in scripture, to recognise teachings that stray from the gospel's truth. If a message contradicts God's Word, it is not from Him.
When we continually seek God's truth and pray for wisdom, we can remain steadfast and not be swayed by attractive but misleading words. Our faith must be anchored in the timeless truth of the Scriptures. Always weigh what you hear with God’s marvellous word.
