00821 - Revenge

As Christians, we are called to a higher standard when dealing with wrongs done to us, avoiding the temptation to seek revenge. The Bible teaches us to leave justice in God's hands. Romans 12:19 (NKJV) instructs, "Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, 'Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,' says the Lord.”

Seeking revenge leads to more pain and conflict, poisoning our hearts with bitterness. Instead of responding with anger, we should practice patience and trust that God will address the wrongs done to us. The negative actions of others are like rotten fruit; they eventually fall on their own if you do nothing.

Never seek to harm or hurt anyone. By entrusting our troubles to Him, we allow God's justice and mercy to prevail. This protects our hearts and sets an example of grace and forgiveness for others to follow.

Quote

Let God deal with the people that hurt you. It’s in His hands.

Prayer

Lord, I bless those who hurt me and forgive them rather than seek revenge. Amen.

Action Point

What hurts are you carrying in your heart; pray for God to heal you.
