It's an interesting fact that the Bible is the most stolen book in the world. Despite the commandment in Exodus 20:15 (NASB), "You shall not steal," people often take Bibles driven by a deep need for truth and spiritual guidance to access God's Word, even when it means breaking one of its commandments.
Many are so desperate for the hope and wisdom in its pages that they steal. There are even stories in countries where the Bible was banned that people ripped out pages and swapped them with each other so one Bible was shared with a community.
Rather than condemning those who take Bibles, we should focus on providing everyone with access to God's Word. Offering Bibles freely to anyone who wants one ensures that God's truth and love can reach all corners of the globe, fulfilling the deep spiritual hunger that drives people to seek His Word.
