Indignation is a strong sense of displeasure at injustice. It reflects our desire for righteousness and fairness, aligning with God's heart for justice. Ephesians 4:26 (NKJV) advises, “Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath.” This is something most struggle with.
Indignation can motivate us to oppose wrongdoing and advocate for those who cannot defend themselves. It also encourages us to act against poverty, discrimination, and abuse. By focusing our indignation on positive actions, we can help bring about change and tangibly demonstrate God's love and fairness.
Managing our indignation carefully is crucial to ensuring it doesn't lead to bitterness or hatred. Focusing on love and forgiveness prevents our righteous anger from becoming destructive. By praying for wisdom and seeking God's guidance, we can ensure our actions are rooted in His will, making them a force for good in the world.
