00689 - A Model Of Courage And Faith

Saint George, celebrated for his unwavering faith and bravery, is best remembered for his metaphorical confrontation with a dragon, the battle between good and evil. According to tradition, he was a Roman soldier who refused to renounce his faith despite persecution under Emperor Diocletian.

In Scripture, we find a principle in Daniel 3:28 (TLB): "Praise to the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! He sent his angel to rescue his servants who trusted in him." Like these servants, George's faith was resolute, unyielded by the trials he faced.

We can all draw inspiration from Saint George's story. His life reminds us that courage rooted in faith can confront formidable challenges. As we face our own trials, may his legacy encourage us to stand firm in our faith, demonstrating bravery and integrity no matter the cost. Remember that even the ‘dragons’ of life can be faced and overcome through faith.

Quote

Never allow the dragon you face to slay you - slay it.

Prayer

Lord, help me find the courage and faith to face the trials I face in life. Amen.

Action Point

Never be afraid to focus on the solution; gather yourself and have a go.
