In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus presents the Beatitudes and principles for Christian living. Among these, He declares, "God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God" (Matthew 5:9 NLT). Being a peacemaker involves more than avoiding conflict; it requires fostering understanding and reconciliation among individuals and communities.
As followers of Christ, we are urged to live above personal grievances. Trying to listen empathetically, speaking truth in love, and acting justly. Peacemakers reflect the heart of God. They often go the extra mile to ensure everyone experiences grace and truth.
By embodying this Beatitude in our daily lives, we contribute to a more peaceful world and bear witness to the transformative power of God's love and grace. In doing so, we become the children of God, marked by His peace and compelled to spread it to every corner of our lives.

Be a peacemaker wherever possible; it is the heart of God.

Teach me about peace, Lord, so that I might demonstrate it amongst others. Amen.
