Ultra-processed foods are high in sugar, salt, artificial additives and preservatives. They offer little or no nutritional value. These foods lead to obesity, heart disease, and diabetes.
In the book of Daniel, we find an example of a godly approach to diet. Daniel 1:12 (NIV) says, "Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink." Daniel and his friends chose a simple and nourishing diet, rejecting the lavish banquets around them. The result was that they "looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food," as stated later in the chapter.
In emulating Daniel's example, we can see the wisdom in choosing natural and nutrient-rich foods over ultra-processed foods. Making healthier choices is about the food we eat, will help our physical well-being and honour God through the bodies He has given us.
Quote Eat fruit and vegetables, the way God gave them to us.
