Doing A Prayer Walk

Carl Brettle

Updated: Feb 17

Many of you know I am a great advocate of prayer walking. By praying around your community, you understand what is happening and what to focus on. Over time crime reduces, and the spiritual atmosphere changes.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 encourages us to ‘pray continually.’ (NIV) Prayer walking is a practical way to put this scripture into action. It allows us to communicate constantly with God as we walk, lifting the needs and concerns of the places and people we encounter.

Being out and about, we can ask God for His will and purposes for the homes, businesses, schools and shops around us. By surrendering our steps to God and seeking His will, we can experience divine direction and align ourselves with His plans. We can pray for God's love, peace, and salvation in people's lives. Prayer Walking is a tremendous privilege and something you should try to do regularly.

Quote When we pray, we ask God to bring His will to our area supernaturally.

Prayer

Lord, lead and guide me as I pray for my community. Amen.

Action Point

If you have a big community, get a little map and slowly work your way around it.
