00367 - Thieves Don’t Break into Empty Houses

Any kind of burglary can be devastating for the homeowner. Thieves will often have done their homework before even attempting to steal from you. Time’s when you are absent, waiting and watching to see if you are going on holiday. Then they do their work.

Imagine if our heart was a home? Would there be anything of value there for the enemy to try and rob us? To discourage us in our walk with God. Psalm 138:7 says, ‘Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me.’ (NIV)

When we fill our ears with worship, our minds with the word, our hearts with love and compassion and our eyes with wholesome viewing habits, the house of our heart will never be empty, regardless of what the enemy does.

Quote Fill your heart with Jesus, and then the enemy will never discourage you.

Prayer

Lord, help me focus on what builds me up, not bring me down. Amen.

Action Point

Take a day, listen to Christian music, watch a Christian film, read the bible, and see how you feel at the end - most likely, built up and positive for the next day.
