00361 - Being a Living Sacrifice

Societies’ definition of success is to get rich and powerful with a touch of celebrity. The Kingdom of God is the opposite of that. The idea of service and sacrifice is not new, Jesus modelled it throughout His life on earth. People have given their lives into service in convents and monasteries. Yet the idea of service and sacrifice is not widespread today.

Galatians 6:2 says, ‘Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.’ (NIV)

There is nothing wrong with earning enough to pay for your living costs. There is also nothing wrong with spending the rest of your life helping the needs of others around you. Helping people understand faith through your service. We can spend too much time in our Christian bubbles and not quite enough time expending our lives to reach the ones He wanted us to - the lost.

Quote Service and sacrifice will result in conversations about God.

Prayer

Lord, help me find more ways to serve the people around me. Amen.

Action Point

If you could give 10 percent of your time for the service of others, what would that look like?
