The Birth Of The Church

Carl Brettle

Updated: Feb 16

Pentecost is the birth of the Church. In flames of fire, the Holy Spirit descended on disciples after Jesus’ ascension. It happened on the 7th Sunday (50th day) after the resurrection on Easter Sunday.

Acts 2:1-3 says, ‘When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.’ (NIV)

Imagine from that point a couple of thousand years ago; we are anointed by default. As children of God, we can stand in the same anointing the disciples did. It was new for them and now a potential lifestyle for us. We are the Church; let's believe we will live in the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Quote

Imagine a life lived completely through the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer

Thank You, Lord, for sending the Holy Spirit to us. Help me live my life with His power. Amen.
